In partnership with the Pharmacy Manager, the lead pharmacy technician supervises the facility’s pharmacy technician staff. This includes personnel management, performance management, payroll monitoring, scheduling, training, and compliance. The lead pharmacy technician will be given one administrative day per week (whenever the schedule allows) to focus on these duties, in addition to regular staffing responsibilities. Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s), the lead pharmacy technician participates in all pharmacy technician duties including but not limited to: (1) preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; (2) maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, etc); and, (3) completion of patients' records pertaining to drug therapy (aminoglycoside protocol orders, drug charges & credits etc). Responsibilities

Supervise the facility’s pharmacy technician staff (in partnership with the Pharmacy Manager). Maintain one administrative day per week (when schedule allows) to focus on supervisory duties. Participate in all pharmacy technician duties including preparation and distribution of all medication doses. Maintain drug inventories (restocking automated dispensing cabinets, packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart stock, etc.). Complete patients' records pertaining to drug therapy (e.g., aminoglycoside protocol orders, drug charges & credits, etc.). Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum experience: Preferred five or more years of experience in a hospital or health system pharmacy. Licensure: Pharmacy Technician State Certification in SC required. About MUSC Health Florence
