Acute Clinical Staff Pharmacist

at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and progressive pharmacy services to our diverse patient population in both acute and ambulatory care settings. Our clinical services include a multitude of specialties, including critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, research, and solid organ transplant. Our robust operations and technologies include automated dispensing cabinets, automated carousel, and new sterile and non-sterile compounding rooms. This is a night shift position working a 7 day on 7 day off rotation, Wednesday-Tuesday, from 8:30pm-7:00am (10-hour shifts). Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. Processes medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness with respect to patient data including age, height, weight, diagnosis, laboratory values, and other pertinent patient information. Utilizes clinical pharmacy skills to assess patient medication regimens and formulates recommendations to ensure optimal safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness for all prescribed medication therapies. Complies with directives of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee/Clinical Consensus Group. Drives their professional development through the utilization of BPS educational resources to achieve competence in the current and future BH acute pharmacy core clinical practices and activities. Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications : Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Must possess good organizational, problem solving, and computer skills. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Preferred Qualifications : Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency program or previous clinical pharmacy experience preferred. Previous hospital experience preferred.
