Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Missouri, School of Medicine. This is a Dual Posting linked with Job ID 57566 (Nurse Practitioner Specialty Care III); three positions will be filled. The final title(s) will depend on the qualifications of the final candidates.
The Department of Emergency Medicine within MU is a dynamic, rapidly expanding department with opportunities to provide high-quality care to patients across Missouri. Our Advanced Practice Professionals deliver care in multiple clinical settings including MU Health Care's Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department, rural Community Emergency Departments, Urgent Care facilities, ED Observation unit, and Occupational Medicine clinic. Our goal is to deliver the best care in the least amount of time, ensuring every patient receives excellent and compassionate care as fast and smoothly as possible.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with physicians and assist in a multidisciplinary practice for the treatment of emergency-related diagnoses.
Perform essential and urgent patient care functions.
Assist in the clinical processes of Emergency Medicine.
Assist in the evaluation and management of Emergency Department patients in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals to determine health status, interventions, and referrals.
Conduct comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate a high level of autonomy in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems.
Maintain the standards of medical support services and implement the policies and procedures of our hospitals, departments, facilities, units, and clinics served.
Assist in identifying trends related to patients and participate in quality improvement activities.
Help guide the development and implementation of structure, process, and outcomes standards.
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Evaluate current research and apply findings clinically, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
Contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses is routine.
Position is in a health care facility operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather may be required.
Shift Variable shifts; 40 hours per week
Minimum Qualifications Physician Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.
Preferred Qualifications
Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range: $108,971.20 - $177,590.40 annually
