As our Surgical Tech at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you’ll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process. Prepare the procedure room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies. Demonstrate competence and understanding of sterile technique, sterilization, environmental controls and decontamination of instrument and equipment. Establish and maintain an organized sterile field and assure team members maintain the sterile environment. Assist the surgeon by providing visualization of the surgical wound and assist with wound closure and application of sterile dressings. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to surgical procedures. Apply basic knowledge of instrumentation for each surgical service with advancement in years of service. Required Education and Experience Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or an equivalent training program that has been reviewed and approved by the department director and VP of Patient Care Services. Required Licensure And Certifications National Certified Surgical Tech License required. Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP), North Dakota, required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR, required. Where You"ll Work CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, part of CommonSpirit Health, a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood, Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Pay Range $25.55 - $38.00 /hour Seniority level
