Overview
Civil Renewable Energy and Substation Engineer-In-Training, Corvallis, OR. The Substation team seeks a Civil Renewable Energy and Substation Engineer-In-Training based near one of DEA’s offices in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Utah, or Washington. Some travel for project execution may be required. The Engineer-in-Training will coordinate civil and site design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project execution for renewable energy and power delivery projects throughout the Midwest and Western United States.
What You’ll Do
Performs all aspects of substation civil design, including preparation of drawings such as site layout, fencing and force protection, grading, drainage, and utility design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D. Adheres to client standards and processes while working individually or in a team to complete complex designs.
Review internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice, and constructability.
Prepare project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.
Attend site meetings and perform site observations during the construction phase of projects.
Maintain complete project documentation for civil design and construction, including completion packages, record drawings, and return data information.
Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplined project team members and maintain relationships with internal groups (Procurement, Drafting, Project Management) and with clients, material suppliers, and contractors.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) from an ABET-accredited university
0.5+ years of civil design experience
Proficiency in civil engineering analysis, drainage design and hydraulic analysis; soil mechanics and retaining wall design a plus
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D; MicroStation a bonus
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
