POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Electrical Engineer III REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Position Reports To: Vice President of Engineering Positions Supervised: None POSITION PURPOSE The engineer will be responsible for the full design, build, & test cycle of analog and digital embedded circuits for production and R&D systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Technical leadership across all phases of the development lifecycle; from R&D concept design, through production prototype and qualification testing, to sustaining full-rate production. Analysis of existing electrical designs and development of new designs for current products. Development of new electrical designs for new products and concepts, including the investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Work closely with cross-functional engineering and business development teams to create products that meet or exceed and project requirements and budgetary constraints. Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause. Design, build and implement production and engineering electro-mechanical fixtures Cultivate a culture that ensures effective cross functional teamwork. Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures All other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 4-6 years’ experience in a product development engineering environment. Proficiency and practical knowledge with analog and digital electrical theory. Experience with analog and digital design development tools and analysis methods. Experience with PCB and PCBA layout and manufacturability analysis. Experience with analog and digital build and test tools to measure, troubleshoot, and validate electronic systems. Desired Education and Experience: Experience working with M-CAD tools (SolidWorks) and basic mechanical drawings Experience with the Altium E-CAD tool for schematic capture and PCB layout Experience working with Tier-1 PCB and PCBA suppliers. Experience with low power embedded systems. Experience with electrical-optical systems. Proficiency in manual SMT soldering and basic wire harnessing. Proficiency with new technologies and trends in electro-optic technology Proficiency with weapon optics products and understanding of the design, development and transition to production requirements in both commercial and military markets Proficiency with weapons, types, calibers, and accessories on those systems that drive optical performance and interoperability requirements of the optical device systems when integrated onto a weapon.
