This position will have responsibility for troubleshooting day-to-day manufacturing challenges at Mearthane Products Corporation’s Cranston, RI location. The Process Engineer will take a hands-on approach to identify continuous improvement projects, test hypotheses, and implement permanent solutions. This individual will additionally assist in new equipment selection, new product introduction, and safety initiatives by working collaboratively with cross functional teams. Salary is commensurate of education, years of experience, and market. Responsibilities
Hands-on troubleshooting of day-to-day manufacturing challenges to support operations. Train individuals in proper use of production equipment and work side by side with maintenance to facilitate proper equipment repairs. Analyze trends to identify areas of opportunity, then develop and implement action plans to drive issues to resolution. Participate in new equipment installation and startup, including identifying equipment specifications. Facilitate scale up of new project introduction as the liaison between R&D and Operations. Work on cross functional teams to meet site specific goals related to safety, quality, and output. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field or demonstrated equivalent experience. Familiarity with engineering principles of fluid flow, mixing, mechanics, and thermodynamics. Demonstrate ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications
2 – 5 years’ experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering. Experience with polymer manufacturing processes. Software Skills
Demonstrate proficiency by quickly adapting to new technology and readily acquiring new technical skills. Proficient in all Microsoft suite applications including Outlook/Teams, Word, Excel, as well as OneDrive and network locations Use of MPC’s ERP system. Prior experience with Global Shops is a plus. Physical & Travel Requirements
Prolonged standing Able to lift 50 pounds Main work location Cranston, RI. Must have reliable transportation. Travel to suppliers, less than 10% of time. Compensation
Base pay range:
$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr Additional compensation types:
