We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) at City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital. As the Advanced Practice Provider, you will assist surgeons in performing safe operations with optimal results for patients. The role involves peri-operative nursing practices, including independent assessment and post-operative care evaluation. You will work with multiple specialties and surgeons across a range of cases including plastics, urology, general surgery, breast surgery, and GYN/ONC. This position involves 4 ten-hour shifts, rotating Monday through Friday, with potential call responsibilities during nights and weekends. Assess the health status of patients to develop individualized care plans by collecting, categorizing, and interpreting data from various sources. Assess patients, including nursing diagnoses, goals, and necessary interventions. Function as an RNFA in the OR across multiple specialties, collaborating with surgeons. Implement nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Occasionally round on inpatient floors and in the PACU. Instruct patients and families to assist in achieving health goals. Document nursing activities for continuity of care, quality improvement, and accountability. Identify patients to ensure correct procedure and operative site. Plan, supervise, and assist with patient transfers to ensure safety. Position patients to access operative sites safely and comfortably. Maintain a sterile environment to reduce infection risk by applying aseptic principles. Establish and monitor safety procedures for patients and staff. Maintain sterile fields and supervise aseptic techniques. Coordinate support services during surgery by anticipating needs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree required. Three years of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred. Unrestricted, current Physician Assistant license. Certified California Physician Assistant license. Current DEA license. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
