Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice - Urgent Care Marana Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner – Family Practice (FNP) to join the Urgent Care/Quick Care team at the Dove Mountain Health Center – Urgent Care, located in Marana, Arizona. The FNP provides quality healthcare in an urgent care environment and uses independent judgment in carrying out daily job responsibilities. Position is supervised by the Chief Clinical Officer and takes day‑to‑day direction from the Urgent Care Lead Physician for clinically‑related matters.

Qualifications Required

Family Nurse Practitioner master’s degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice, with active license to practice in Arizona required.

Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Master’s degree (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing, combined with at least 1 year of recent Primary Care or Family Practice experience.

Candidate without the MSN, but whose Nurse Practitioner certification is current and was grandfathered-in prior to the Master’s degree becoming a requirement for the credential will be considered if they also have required hands‑on experience.

Preferred

Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Primary Health Care environment.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to effectively present and document information for patient population.

Establish strong customer service skills and professional communication.

Sensitivity to low‑income and ethnic minority communities.

Quickly assimilate, assess and act on new concepts, trends, and initiatives.

Make decisions in line with state and federal regulations.

Prepare and submit complete and succinct documentation necessary to the job.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer, deliver comprehensive patient care in a primary care setting.

Follow evidence‑based guidelines to diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic conditions.

Identify short‑term and long‑range patient care issues, provide pertinent information, and recommend options and courses of action.

Refer patients to physicians and specialty providers as needed with appropriate documentation.

Collaborate with other providers in the care of patients as needed.

Develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring continuity of care.

Diagnose and treat common acute health issues, chronic health issues, and perform health‑maintenance exams.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe proper medications.

Follow up with patients via telephone, electronic, and mail correspondence.

Document patient contracts in chart and promote wellness and self‑care through education and counseling.

Perform outpatient procedures such as suture removal within scope of practice.

Attend continuing medical education (CME) conferences or training as required to maintain licensure.

Promote community awareness of health care issues and participate in off‑site activities such as health fairs and school‑based programs.

Ensure proper documentation in patient charting, encounter forms, and insurance forms.

Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer.
