To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have: Education: Master’s Degree from an approved program of Speech/Language Pathology. Experience: Clinical training with a variety of client populations. Licenses/Certification: Must hold a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence outlined by ASHA. Maintenance of CPR or BLS Skills: Ability to take proper history and use evaluation methods in accordance with established guidelines Documents prognosis, as well as predicted optimal level of improvement in function and amount of time needed to reach that level Develop a treatment program in collaboration with patient/caregiver as appropriate Must be comfortable taking care of pediatric, adolescent as well as adult and geriatric patients Responsibilities
As the Speech Pathologist at Gunnison Valley Health, you will be evaluating and treating patients utilizing the parameters established by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Designing individualized treatment programs appropriate to achieving short and long-term goals, in collaboration with the patient or the patient’s caregiver. Demonstrating awareness of the patient’s status by making program changes in response to changes in the patient or his environment. Performing adult and geriatric dysphagia evaluations appropriately according to the ASHA practice standards. Documenting prognosis including predicted optimal level of improvement in function. Short-term goals are clear, measurable, functional, and time specific. Long-term goals are clear, measurable, functional, and time specific. Compensation: $34.69/hr - $43.95/hr, depending on experience. Physical Requirements
Occasionally (0-33%) - Reclining, reaching, reach across midline, crouching/squatting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, jumping, stairs, ramp, lifting/lowering (25-50 lbs), carrying (25 - 50 lbs), pushing/pulling (25-50 lbs) Frequently (34 – 66%) - Standing, walking, sitting, change position, handling, fingering, feeling. Continuously (37 -100%) See with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance Schedule
Shift - Day Schedule - 8 hours Status - PT There is no deadline to apply for this position; we are accepting applications on an ongoing basis until a finalist is selected.
