Lead and develop the dining services operation to align with Compass Community Living and client business strategy; disseminate the vision so all team members understand expectations. Own the on-site business outcomes with an entrepreneurial approach; hold the on-site leadership team accountable for service behaviors. Evaluate personnel, operations, and culinary situations; provide timely recommendations; communicate with executives, supervisors, and staff as needed. Maintain professionalism and resilience during high-pressure periods; adapt and problem solve as required. Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Compass Group standards. Direct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs; ensure ongoing communication in all areas of food and beverage through pre-meal briefings and staff meetings. Advise and update leadership and staff on relevant information in a timely manner via telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person. Understand client business model; build strong relationships with residents, staff, and other departments; be seen as a member of the client’s management team. Oversee and optimize budgets, wages, food & beverage costs, and controllable expenses; review financial reports to track performance against budget and implement improvement plans. Implement and manage talent development; coach and mentor team; cross-train to enhance capabilities; hire leadership with strong functional expertise and entrepreneurial leadership. Qualifications & Requirements
B.S. in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. with four years related experience. Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge/control. Strong knowledge of food and catering trends; focus on quality, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation. Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience desirable. Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills; excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate at management, client, customer, and associate levels. Excellent financial, budgeting, accounting, and numerical skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and related programs. ServSafe Certification preferred. Job Summary
