Summary

The Lead Therapist is Responsible for supervising the delivery of counseling services at Grace Counseling, St Peter, St Joseph’s Children’s Home and other sites as needed. This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all therapists and interns under their supervision. The Lead Therapist supervises all assigned program therapists and interns within all Community Programs and some Shelter Programs. The Lead Therapist on boards all new therapists and interns, monitors program progress, successes and challenges. Lead Therapist is responsible for providing required reports and correspondence to funding sources and the agency. The Lead Therapist will also act as a therapist by providing services to participants’ onsite and/or other locations throughout the Archdiocese. The Lead Therapist will assist the Senior Director in managing the budget, including monitoring expenses, productivity studies, reimbursement billing, grant writing, and fund development. The Lead Therapist acts as a representative of the Counseling Department and the agency at community meetings and events. Description

Workdays: Monday – Friday (weekends/evenings as needed)

Position Responsibilities

*The Lead Therapist will be responsible for, recruitment, interviewing, hiring and training new employees and interns under their supervision. Will make recommendations for performance improvement and/or termination. *Disseminates program information to other community programs, agencies and entities by phone, mail, email, and via community meetings and events *Ensure the counseling program adheres to procedures and protocols of designated funding entity (i.e. Texas Pregnancy Care Network, VOCA, Bexar County) *Train new hires, interns and all assigned staff including agency procedures and protocols and documentation requirements *Provide specified monthly/quarterly reports for counseling program to funding source and/or agency. *Develop, assess and make recommendations based on a bi-weekly productivity report for all therapists and interns *Monitor client files for required forms, accuracy, appropriate documentation, and service review Attend grant-related and collaborative meetings for counseling program Assist with grant proposals and present information to potential funding sources as required Review program monthly budget, incoming revenue, and expenditures with Senior Director Monitor job performance of all staff based on services provided, program procedures, and program/grant goals Provide staff with monthly Supportive Supervision and a formal annual review Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Master’s Degree from school accredited in licensure discipline. Experience Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in individual, family, and/or group therapy. Preferred experience with Foster Care, Substance Abuse and/or Pre- and Post-Partum Counseling Experience supervising client service team is preferred License and Credentials Reliable transportation Valid driver license, with clean driving record Valid vehicle insurance Licensed in one or more of the following:* Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Preferred Supervisor designation or eligible to become a supervisor within the first 6 – 12 months of employment.

Minimum Knowledge And Skills

Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in counseling adults, teens, children, couples, and/or families; Extensive working knowledge of the process of change, and trauma informed care Experience and proficiency with computer software: Electronic Health Record, email, internet, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Leadership skills and management experience A solid grasp of public speaking Must be skilled in time management and ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team; Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
