Early Childhood Development Specialist: Healthy Steps Specialist
Essen Health Care is a large, privately held multispecialty medical group in the Bronx, providing high-quality, compassionate, and accessible medical care to vulnerable and under-served residents of New York State. We are seeking an early child development expert to join our pediatric primary care team as a HealthySteps Specialist. The HealthySteps Specialist will provide interventions, referrals, and follow-up for families with patients ages 0-3, and build strong relationships with families and providers to increase the efficiency of the medical system and support team-based comprehensive care. Responsibilities include: Promoting HealthySteps within the practice to families and providers Conducting team-based well-child visits to monitor development, social-emotional functioning, and relational health Conducting consultations on a short-term basis for needs regarding development and/or behavioral concerns Maintaining a family support line and responding to and tracking call requests Participating in reflective supervision meetings Creating and maintaining a community resource directory/database and providing referrals Requirements include: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, early childhood education, or related field Excellent oral and written communication skills Commitment to working with underserved populations in a community setting Empathic, supportive, and patient with strong motivational interviewing skills We offer a salary range of $75,000-$80,000 and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.
