Overview
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking an
Assistant Program Director
to join our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. CASA is a national organization providing child-centered advocacy through a wide network of local programs. The CASA model utilizes community volunteers to advocate for children who have open protective cases in court due to abuse or neglect. Your Role as an Assistant Program Director
The Assistant Program Director is responsible for the complete oversight and maintenance of the integrity of the program, which matches community volunteer advocates with abused and neglected children. Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Human Services, Psychology, Law or related field; Associate’s considered with relevant direct experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal & written) required. Ability to relate to people and work cooperatively with diverse groups. Flexibility and time management skills to deal with multiple priorities. Experience and/or knowledge of the juvenile court & social service systems. Experience in case management and providing supervision. Ability to learn new systems quickly and confidently. Essential Job Functions
Recruiting, training and supervising a diverse group of volunteers Reporting to the Juvenile Court regularly Working with state legislators to secure annual funding for the program Planning and coordinating volunteer recognition activities Carrying a small caseload of clients, if necessary for program goals Read, write and review court reports Attend court hearings if necessary Conduct outreach and marketing campaigns to recruit diverse volunteers Manage the program in accordance with National CASA standards and represent CASA of Hampden County in the community at all levels Compensation and Benefits
