Datacenter IT Operations Manager-Logistics
Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Datacenter IT Operations Manager-Logistics (ITOM‑L), you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Our infrastructure includes a global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers, supporting over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. With environmental sustainability and optimization at the forefront of our datacenter design and operations, we continue to grow and evolve to meet ever-changing business demands.
Responsibilities
Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of datacenter activities.
Lead and manage a team of high-performing individual contributors and drive their ongoing talent development.
Manage and oversee datacenter site services, logistics, and deployment.
Collaborate and coordinate with multiple internal business groups to ensure successful delivery of service levels.
Analyze production operations and initiate corrective actions to ensure operational stability.
Initiate and establish quality standards for the Datacenter teams and manage those initiatives through to completion.
Learn, live, and coach the One Microsoft culture and values; lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success.
Qualifications
High School qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years experience in mission‑critical service management (e.g., IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in a critical environment).
3+ years of experience with end-to-end operational warehouse/supply chain/logistics, including the use of hand trucks and other powered and non-powered lifting devices.
Background Check Requirements
Must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Enterprise-level experience managing large-scale and complex projects/programs representing operational, business, and logistical verticals.
Working knowledge of audit and compliance requirements in a large global enterprise.
Problem‑solving skills, analytical capabilities, data analysis, and attention to detail.
Verbal and written communication and organization skills.
Must be able to multi-task and project manage many tasks simultaneously.
College or university degree in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Control, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
Pay and Benefits Data Center Operations Management M4: USD $102,600–$202,800 per year (adjusted for specific work locations). In the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $137,500–$225,800 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
