Provide safety and transportation leadership at a corporate level by implementing safety initiatives and improving performance through training and interaction with all associates to help ensure compliance with established safety and transportation standards, policies and procedures that align with local, state, and federal regulations. Lead the safety and compliance team, providing effective delegation of responsibilities, workload monitoring, associate training/development, and performance management. Define, write, communicate and continuously improve Viking Electric’s safety program through strong working relationships with management and associates; create prescriptive education designed to reduce injuries and days away from work. Provide an annual safety report for the executive leadership that includes initiatives and location-specific safety performance. Act as corporate point of contact for accident reporting. Assist with the investigation of accidents, associate injuries, incidents and near misses to identify improvements. Partner with Human Resources and third-party administrators on workers’ compensation claims and associate accidents when injury occurs. Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements (regulatory and Sonepar USA). Serve as the site contact for applicable regulatory agencies. Collaborate with Human Resources and Sonepar to provide safety education and compliance management through the learning management system. Create strategies to improve TRIR, DART, and DAFW metrics. Participate as a member of the Sonepar Central Region Safety Team. Oversee third-party logistics providers including carrier selection, contract negotiations, and site readiness. Maintain continuous improvement through fleet analysis, key performance indicators, and interaction with operations management. Conduct periodic safety inspections and audits of Viking Electric locations to identify unsafe conditions or practices, ensure programs are followed, and maintain compliance records. Develop and publish locally accurate evacuation and building security plans. Partner with the Facility Manager on building security (card access and video surveillance). Manage adherence to OSHA Power Industrial Truck requirements companywide. Support training of new associates and maintain accurate recordkeeping of training for all operators. Requirements

What You Bring

5+ years of progressive safety and compliance experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety/compliance experience. Previous experience leading a team is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. Availability to travel up to 30% of the time. What We Offer You
