Overview Are you passionate about protecting creativity and innovation? WD-40 Company is seeking a Global IP & Brand Protection Coordinator for a temporary assignment to help safeguard the ingenuity that puts us on the map.
A hybrid schedule from home and our San Diego office is preferred, but we’re also open to fully remote arrangements for candidates located outside the San Diego area.
Estimated assignment duration: 5-6 months (November 2025 - April 2026).
What You’ll Be Doing
Serve as the primary point of contact for outside counsel on global brand protection matters.
Review and organize incoming correspondence (including investigations, infringement reports, cease and desist letters, and customs seizures) and provide concise analysis and actionable recommendations to Global IP & BP Manager.
Consult with manager and provide instructions and allocation of work to vendors and counsel on selected matters.
Maintain accurate and complete records of enforcement matters in our case management database, ensuring all data is properly documented and accessible.
Create and manage new matters in the database, ensuring proper references are communicated to counsel and proper email routing is used for automated docketing and uploads.
Create quarterly reports on enforcement data for Americas, Pacific and EIMEA key stakeholders.
Develop an annual report summarizing key enforcement activities, financial data, and regional strategies for global leadership review.
Participate in strategic calls with vendors focused on online enforcement initiatives.
Review and approve invoices from outside counsel, ensuring accuracy and alignment with budget expectations.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
Legal background with 3+ years of experience in IP and Brand Protection.
Global IP and Brand Protection experience required. Must be comfortable working with international counsel and foreign authorities across multiple regions.
Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage high volumes of correspondence and synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel, for reporting and presentations.
Experience with matter management systems or IP/Brand Protection databases; familiarity with e-billing platforms is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Broad knowledge of IP laws, regulations, and registration requirements.
Total Rewards $25-31/hour depending on multiple factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
