Overview

The uMap/ IP Enforcement position will focus on protecting and enforcing intellectual property (IP) rights and uMAP such as identifying and enforcing infringements, monitoring IP portfolios, and collaborating with internal and external teams to address all related violations. Responsibilities

Proactively monitor, review, and analyze online marketplaces for listings that violate Baja Designs' uMAP policy and IP infringements, collaborating with authorized uMAP dealers and internal stakeholders to ensure adherence. Conduct comprehensive surveillance across online platforms to identify and address non-compliant listings (e.g., Amazon, Amazon Business Prime, Google Shopping, Jobber websites, eBay, Walmart, Facebook Groups/Forums, Instagram). Execute the departmental processes for uMAP enforcement, including detailed documentation of violations, communication with the internal representative team and infringing parties/jobbers/accounts, and timely escalation of persistent issues. This involves direct communication via phone, email, messaging systems, and other lines of communication. Prepare thorough documentation and evidence packages for legal actions, including cease-and-desist letters. Develop, implement, and continuously refine IP and uMAP enforcement strategies to protect Baja Designs' brand and proprietary assets, including validating new tools/platforms and refining internal best practices and processes. Partner closely with internal teams, including Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, to support related activities and ensure a cohesive approach to enforcement and brand protection. Analyze enforcement data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of strategies, and provide regular reports to leadership on marketplace compliance and infringement activities. Provide input for the ongoing refinement and development of Baja Designs' uMAP/IP policies and guidelines based on market observations and enforcement outcomes. Educate internal teams and external partners on related brand policies and the importance of protection to foster a culture of compliance. Remuneration
