FLEET AND LOGISTICS MANAGER

Job Summary
The Fleet and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s transportation and distribution operations, ensuring the efficient movement of raw materials, packaged products, and other goods. This role includes managing a fleet of vehicles, coordinating with suppliers and customers, and implementing cost-effective logistics solutions while adhering to safety regulations and company standards.
This position requires strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-growing company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fleet Management: Manage the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, insured, and compliant with legal and safety standards. Schedule regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure vehicle reliability. Monitor fuel usage and implement measures to optimize fuel efficiency. Keep records of vehicle licensing, registration, and tracking systems.
Logistics Operations: Plan and execute the distribution and delivery of goods to ensure timely and accurate shipments. Develop efficient routes and schedules to minimize transportation costs and time. Coordinate with production, warehousing, and customer service teams to meet delivery requirements. Monitor supply chain activities and address potential delays or disruptions.
Team Leadership: Supervise and manage drivers, dispatchers, and other logistics staff. Conduct performance evaluations and ensure the team operates efficiently.
Cost and Performance Optimization: Analyze transportation costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Develop KPIs to track fleet and logistics performance and improve processes.
Compliance and Safety: Provide training on safety, operational standards, and customer service. Ensure compliance with local and international transportation regulations. Implement and enforce safety protocols for drivers and vehicles. Conduct audits and inspections to maintain high standards in operations. DOT registration and compliance for fleet. GMP/food safety knowledge. CAL OSHA compliance knowledge. Facility safety/food safety inspection. Annual food safety audits. Accident investigations. Worker's compensation documentation.
Technology and Reporting: Utilize logistics software for tracking shipments, managing inventory, and scheduling routes. Manage UPS WorldShip application for shipping to customers. Manage Fleet Complete application and tablets to monitor truck drivers' hours and locations for compliance.
Prepare and present reports on fleet performance, costs, and operational metrics to management. Stay updated on advancements in logistics and fleet management technologies.
Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field experience. Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related role (experience in the packaging industry is a plus).
Certifications and Licenses:
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Logistics Professional, Fleet Management Certification) are an advantage and a Valid Driver License is required.
Skills: Bilingual/biliterate. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in logistics software and fleet management systems. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure. Leadership and team management capabilities.

Work Environment: This role may involve office, warehouse, and on-site work, requiring occasional travel to distribution centers, supplier locations, or client sites.
