What You Will Do:
Lead project management and process design for new water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, review existing water/wastewater treatment facilities, prepare reports for proposed equipment/systems upgrades and replacements, and present your findings to clients and regulatory agencies Conduct business development and develop client relationships in the water/wastewater industry Independently evaluate, select, and apply various treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance or ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and apply the results to water/wastewater treatment plant configurations Develop specifications and drawings such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for senior drafting technicians Assess impact of changing DOH, EPA and MPCA regulations for specific client needs Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, field verification of designs, proposal presentations, and business development activities Competencies:
Honesty and integrity, sense of ownership, collaboration, persistence, pro-activity, organization, and planning are all expectations the person in this role. Possessing a strong understanding of the construction industry in general, and construction materials testing and special inspection services specifically Interest in Project management - tracking scope, schedule, quality, and budget Interest in Business Development - Identifying, attracting, and securing a new, diverse client base What You Will Bring:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering in areas such as evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, wastewater conveyance and water distribution systems. A minimum of 3 years of water or wastewater engineering project management experience A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering A current Minnesota PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work at a variety of locations The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains associated with construction projects Excellent organizational and communications skills Experience in some or most of the following technical areas:
Wastewater treatment process design Water treatment process design Well and pump house design Water Storage Biological nutrient removal Biosolids stabilization and processing Pilot testing Process modeling Advanced oxidation Our preferred candidate will have:
