Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Lead Product Manager who has a unique blend of business, marketing, and technical savvy. Successful candidates have experience with competitive strategy and defining product and solution roadmaps with excellent writing, and presentation skills and enjoy technical writing. If you are an engineer with demonstrated experience in product management and are interested in applying your skills to promote, support, and develop products and solutions that serve the electric power industry, we invite you to join our team. As a Lead Product Manager a typical day might include the following: Lead and teach others with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and customers to ensure that SEL makes the right product at the right time.

Maintain a deep understanding of the end user, how they use the product, and identify and evaluate product line opportunities.

Work closely with Marketing and Sales to develop sales forecasts, marketing plans, draft sales and marketing collateral, support customers and provide training.

Think strategically when creating and managing key elements of the products throughout the lifecycle including the roadmap, data sheet, technical presentations, pricing, demos, customer requests, and competitive analysis.

Participate in industry technical meetings, standard committees, and contribute with technical papers.

This job might be for you if: You have a B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

Minimum 6+ years of experience in electric power systems, telecommunications, automation systems or other relevant discipline

Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills

Knowledge of product life cycle planning

Willing to travel 25%

It would be nice if you have: MBA

MS Degree in Engineering
