Collect blood specimens, receive, handle and process specimens for Laboratory testing. Interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behavior. Receive, sort and accessions specimens, assigning to appropriate pre-analytic and analytic workflow. Complete computerized tasks related to patient registration and/or test order entry, specimen collection, receiving and processing. Perform basic post-analytic tasks, including distributing reports, storing and/or retrieving specimens. Complete quality-related tasks such as documentation of work, maintaining a clean, stocked and safe work area, and monitoring pending work, escalating priority work when needed. Operate and/or use basic pre-analytic lab equipment. Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Education
HS Diploma: High School or General Education Diploma (GED) Certification & Licensure
CPTI - Certified Phlebotomy Technician I OR CPT II - Certified Phlebotomy Technician II Experience
Typical Experience: 1-year recent relevant experience. Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge and practice of standard principles, processes, procedures, and equipment related to ordering laboratory testing, collecting blood specimens, and interacting with patients with compassion and effectiveness. Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and tasks. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet expected timeframes. Ability to interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behaviors. Workflow Management
Respond appropriately to fluctuations in volume, equipment or IS failure, shift-to-shift hand-offs, STAT orders, specimen integrity issues, and pending logs. Adherence to Practices & Procedures
Follow standard practices, processes, and procedures; knowledge of local/state/federal regulations and policies to ensure privacy and safety of patients. Applied Job Knowledge, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

Locations include Mountain View, CA; Santa Clara, CA; Pleasanton, CA with varying pay ranges. Pay Range: $33.53 to $41.91 per hour. The salary range may vary by location; compensation takes into account experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
