Water/Wastewater Project Manager – Team Leader

to join our team in Clifton Park, NY.

This role leads and manages teams on a wide range of water and wastewater projects across New York State and surrounding regions, including water source development, treatment, storage and distribution, and/or wastewater collection, pumping and treatment. Wastewater State Group Leader

for New York. This role offers significant responsibility in driving the success of Wright-Pierce’s New York market with potential stock ownership based on qualifications and performance and participation in our Incentive Compensation Program. The salary range is $115,000–$165,000 per year; final salary is based on education, experience, certifications, and location.

Responsibilities

Manage municipal water and wastewater projects including water source, distribution, and storage projects, as well as wastewater collection, pumping and treatment

Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex project challenges

Oversee project budget, schedule, production and quality control across all phases

Maintain effective communication with clients and internal teams to ensure project success

Lead technical execution for large or complex multi-disciplinary projects

Supervise the preparation of technical drawings, specifications and bid packages

Ensure all project requirements and deliverables are met on time and within budget

Identify opportunities to enhance Wright-Pierce’s project standards and execution

Mentor and develop staff, fostering their professional growth

Lead business development efforts to expand client relationships and market presence

Travel to client and project sites as needed

Represent Wright-Pierce in relevant industry organizations and events

Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of experience in drinking water and/or wastewater project engineering

Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required

Education: B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar

Skills & Knowledge: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams); Bluebeam experience preferred; familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations and funding processes

Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members; ability to develop strong relationships with coworkers and build effective teams
