The Director of Dining Services is the strategic business leader of the community’s food and beverage/culinary operation, ensuring resident and client satisfaction by delivering a consistently high-quality product and best-in-class hospitality while achieving financial goals. You will oversee the development and implementation of departmental strategies and uphold Compass Community Living’s service strategy as the face of the company. Leading Food & Beverage Operation

Develop and implement the operating strategy aligned with Compass Community Living and client business strategy; communicate expectations to the team. Own the on-site outcomes with an entrepreneurial approach and hold the leadership team accountable for service behaviors. Evaluate personnel, operations, and culinary situations quickly and make appropriate recommendations. Maintain professionalism and resilience during stressful periods; adapt and problem-solve as required. Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Compass Group standards. Direct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs. Maintain regular, ongoing communications in all areas of food and beverage through pre-meal briefings and staff meetings. Inform executives, supervisors, and staff in a timely manner via phone, written communication, e-mail, or in person. Business & Financial Competence

Understand market dynamics and Compass Community Living’s objectives; diagnose strengths/weaknesses and develop strategies to drive results. Recognize and understand P&L drivers; analyze results and implement plans to deliver expected outcomes. Develop and manage the overall budget to maximize client value. Coach and support the team to manage wages, food & beverage cost, and controllable expenses. Review financial reports to monitor performance against budget; collaborate with the team to address concerns and improve financial performance. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

Understand the client’s business model to prioritize resident needs. Be visible within the community to build strong relationships with residents, staff, and other departments. Review resident satisfaction data, share feedback, and drive corrective actions to meet expectations. Improve service through mentorship, feedback, and coaching; stay aware of market trends to introduce new products and increase resident satisfaction and revenue. Empower employees to deliver outstanding service and exceed satisfaction goals. Team Building & Management

Regularly lead team meetings and model positive behavior to motivate a best-in-class hospitality experience. Set clear goals (performance, budget, team) and foster an open-door policy. Identify development needs, coach, and mentor team members to reach objectives. Cross-train and promote professional growth; recruit and retain talent with behavioral-based interviewing. Hire food & beverage leadership that demonstrates expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial leadership. Ensure fair treatment of employees and maintain accountability. Preferred Qualifications

B.S. in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. with four years related experience. Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge. Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation. Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience desirable. Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills; excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate with management, clients, customers, and associates. Excellent financial, budgeting, accounting, and computational skills. Proficient computer skills (MS Office, e-mail, Internet). ServSafe Certified. Benefits & Additional Information
