Overview
Looking for a Field Service Engineer to work with a team, upgrading the video management system (VMS) at DoD facilities Worldwide. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on a critical mission supporting US Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM). Serco supports the US IMCOM Army Child & Youth Services (CYS) Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment within the server rack. Our team upgrades, maintains and provides support to the Functional Technology Specialists (FTS), building directors, and staff on site to allow them to perform their mission successfully. You will be part of a team supporting the upgrade of the VMS at DoD facilities Worldwide, setting up and configuring the VMS and analyzing and resolving technical issues related to the VMS system. You will work closely with Engineers, Project Leads, and Project Engineers. Position Description As a Pre-Installation and Test Check-Out (PITCO) Field Service Engineer II, you will work with a team of technicians performing IT systems lab configuration and testing on a modernized IT system for U.S. Army installations worldwide. This work involves installing Closed-Circuit Television, desktop computing systems and peripherals, cabling (including termination) and rack-mounted equipment for U.S. Army installations worldwide. Your position may be assisted by other technicians, and you will have frequent contact with professionals and others within the establishment; you will perform typical duties as follows: Responsibilities
Review documents in ServiceNow Apply asset tags to hardware Work with warehouse personnel to transfer equipment to/from PITCO Update asset management database Configure hardware Stage, power up, and interconnect hardware Install software image and apply settings Analyze and resolve technical issues related to VMS end points Monitor the burn in of hardware Complete test plans and checklist Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software video management systems and network devices Repack hardware and palletize for shipping Create transfer orders in asset management database Provide progress report on PITCO testing Understand termination of Cat 5e/6 using T568B color code standard Apply methods previously outlined to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conduct tests or experiments and redesign as necessary, recording and evaluating data and reporting findings Ability to perform basic administrative tasks (daily status report, close-out documents, timekeeping) in a timely manner Other duties may be assigned Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer (or equivalent work experience) 3 years of experience with installation of closed-circuit television, video management systems, Windows Server and Windows 11 operating systems, and Internet Protocol networking Active DoD Secret Clearance May be required to travel for work and be able to work outside of normal business hours up to 10% U.S. Citizen Additional desired experience and skills
