is seeking experienced Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering, or similar Engineering Technology degreed personnel to join our team of talented Field Service Engineers. These engineers provide industry-leading expertise and support on a broad range of B&W utility, industrial, and environmental products to our customers.
As a
Field Service Engineer III , you will undertake a variety of tasks, including supporting the operation and maintenance of B&W or competitor’s equipment, commissioning new equipment, providing technical advisory services during major project construction phases, supporting non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, and more. You will also provide hands-on training for less experienced Service Engineers and develop your own skills. Building and maintaining customer relationships is essential, and you will work with minimal supervision for daily activities.
B&W customers include power plants, refineries, mining companies, pulp and paper mills, hospitals, universities, breweries, and other industries requiring steam or environmental equipment.
This position requires extensive travel (90%), including driving on client/customer property.
Additional Duties of the Field Service Engineers include:
Working on existing equipment, including boiler inspections, repairs, condition assessments, and tuning.
Providing Pulverizer rebuild/troubleshooting technical services.
Collecting and evaluating field data.
Collaborating with customers, account executives, vendors, and sublet vendors with minimal assistance from the District Engineer.
Preparing technical reports documenting work, activities, and recommendations.
Participating in project startups and outages as part of a team.
Providing construction technical support and outage management.
Assisting in developing project and parts opportunities.
Qualities we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or similar Engineering Technology.
Five or more years of industry experience in power plants or equivalent environments.
Ability to work independently.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with good communication skills and team orientation.
Willingness and ability to travel.
