Description

The Product Support Engineer provides technical support and information on Trenton products and their expected performance in response to customer calls and inquiries. Executes tests required to qualify new Trenton products throughout the engineering design phase. Strives to satisfy internal and external customer needs with on-time delivery and continuous improvement in quality, products, and services.

Responsibilities

Provide direct phone and email support for Trenton customers and potential customers.

Record customer information for each support call using appropriate database.

Assist users in troubleshooting via phone and email, providing expertise, BIOS, and driver files to resolve issues and reduce unnecessary RMAs.

Inform the Product Support Engineering Manager of anomalies requiring investigation and correction in manufacturing.

Configure systems to replicate and troubleshoot customer problems under supervision.

Support engineering design and development efforts as needed.

Perform testing on products in development and create performance reports.

Escalate failures during testing to engineers and management.

Identify process and product improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage risks in products, processes, and environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

1-3 years of experience in a computer test/support environment.

Thorough knowledge of PCs and operating systems.

Familiarity with PC peripherals and troubleshooting hardware and system issues.

Ability to learn new technologies and testing methods.

Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.
