The Role

Develops and evaluates metrology calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
