Overview
An international automotive parts manufacturer near Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a motivated EHS Assistant Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate has proven leadership and EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a competitive salary and outstanding benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching. Responsibilities
Assist EHS Manager in overseeing the EHS department and support supervisors in daily activities Ensure training materials, plans, and competency checks are in place for EHS associates and provide ongoing feedback Supervise safety programs for all associates and ensure safety guidelines are followed Assist with OSHA compliance and ensure proper documentation is filed Investigate safety incidents and report findings, tracking resolutions for known issues Assist with development and implementation of EHS procedures Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and ensure compliance Assist with disciplinary actions as needed Manage scheduling including overtime and vacation for direct reports Ensure a safe and clean working environment Perform other tasks as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor or Associate degree in a related field; Environmental Health and Safety degree is ideal or equivalent combination of education and experience Must have prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or industrial manufacturing Experience with ISO 14001 is strongly preferred Prior experience working with safety management and quality (root cause analysis) Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment Maintain all required records and documentation Ability to work responsibly, effectively, and independently when needed Note: This position includes a manufacturing and warehousing work environment. Duties may require intermittent sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds (and more with lift assist), climbing stairs, handling parts/equipment, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending at the waist, and vision requirements Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions / Renaissance Resources Inc.
