Overview

IMEG, one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S., seeks an Electrical Engineer in our Rock Island, IL office. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals, BIM instructions for projects, and specifications required to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period of time and budget. The Electrical Engineer will exercise discretion and judgment in these duties. Responsibilities

Act as Lead Designer on projects and perform complete electrical systems design (for a discipline) according to code. Specify equipment based on project needs and available technologies; research resources for commercially available equipment. Calculate costs and time schedules for proposed work; review files to determine scope and personnel involved. Maintain good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files. Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers. Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions promptly while monitoring project design progress as related to fee expended. Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check. Prepare and issue addendum information. Recognize potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager. Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager. Conduct periodic job site observations and provide other services as required by the contract services agreement. Mentor designers and/or technicians. Key skills and abilities

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings. Knowledge of physical principles, laws, and their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM. Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups. Education and experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of four years of qualifying experience. Or a minimum of ten years of qualifying experience without a bachelor's degree. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Salary Range $83,000 - $105,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
