Electrical Design Engineering Supervisor

The Pieper Electric Construction Services team seeks an experienced Engineering Design Supervisor to lead our electrical design team across a wide range of projects—from concept to completion. In this key leadership role, you will manage design workflows, mentor staff, and contribute directly to electrical system layouts and specifications. Why work here?

Partner with architects, contractors, owners, and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into building designs. Lead design of electrical systems across various sectors (commercial, industrial, institutional, etc.) with expertise in distribution, branch power and lighting, motor controls, arc flash coordination. Perform load calculations and select equipment to ensure compliance, cost‑efficiency, and performance. Support pre‑ and post‑bid phases, including plan modifications and partial calculations. Ensure all designs align with current codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Oversee multiple concurrent projects, managing timelines, milestones, deliverables. Create standardized design templates for typical installations. Maintain comprehensive documentation and folder structure. Track projects and labor hours using ERP system. Forecast team capacity, project backlog, and resource allocation. Collaborate cross‑functionally to refine documentation, workflows, SOPs, and tools. Work with Construction Services Manager to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Supervise project flow, review design outputs for quality and accuracy. Support team development through workforce planning, training, performance reviews, and professional development. Foster open communication, manage team workload, align with project goals and department objectives. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, hold a Wisconsin Design or PE certification. 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and/or electrical construction design. 10+ years of utilizing electrical and construction‑based design software. Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, Revit, AutoCAD, SmartSheets, Autodesk Build, AccuBid, PowerPoint, Apple/iPad, PlanGrid, Procore. Pieper Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
