Overhead Transmission Line Structural Engineer – Staff – Black & Veatch – Full‑time – Hybrid or flexible work options after the first 90 days. Opportunity
As a Structural Transmission Line Engineer you will support design engineering and analysis on large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies like HVDC and 765kV. You will collect data, perform research, prepare calculations, develop recommendations, and work within budget, schedule, quality, and client relationship requirements. With minimal supervision you will apply advanced engineering techniques, mentor team members, and contribute to business development activities. Key Responsibilities
Apply engineering standards, codes, and Black & Veatch policies to transmission line projects. Perform complex research, develop equipment/material recommendations, and prepare calculations following standard methods. Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects. Communicate client interests and drivers, and support business development activities. Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Experience with utility‑scale transmission system design and structural steel structures. Strong CADD (PLS CADD) proficiency. Advanced knowledge of structural design principles, standards, and design guides. Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, and conflict management skills. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search). Certifications
Professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country is required or the incumbent must be in active pursuit of such registration. Work Environment / Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible work options after the first 90 days based on manager discretion. Work assignments may require travel to project sites. Benefits
