Position overview: This co-op position will challenge an aspiring Package Engineer who is passionate about the healthcare industry. Selected candidate will gain knowledge of healthcare packaging design, validation, verification, procurement, specification development, among other topics. Incumbent will support the development and validation of packaging systems and processes for both sterile and non-sterile products. Key Responsibilities

Supporting and leading project deliverables delegated to the co-op from Package Engineers. Develop knowledge of relevant regulations, industry consensus standards and test method standards (e.g., 21 CFR 820.120, Device Labeling 820.130, Device Packaging). Know ISO standards: ISO 11607-1:2019, ISO 11607-2:2019, ISO 16775:2021. Work on internal package engineering procedure improvement projects. Collaborate on projects affecting internationally distributed brands (e.g., Acuvue, Tecnis). Manage relationships with stakeholders across technical and business functions via PMO. Interact with outside suppliers for packaging design development, evaluation, and testing. Develop soft and hard skills to master above functions and responsibilities. Deliver an end-of-co-op presentation summarizing portfolio of work outcomes. Must be able to work 6-12 months as a full-time employee starting in January, April, or June. Position does not include supervisory responsibilities; will operate under supervision of full-time Package Engineers. Actions will be checked periodically. Main Requirements

Working toward a B.A./B.S. in engineering or scientific field required; B.S. in Package Engineering preferred. Preferably in an accredited college program related to package engineering (e.g., Packaging Science, Industrial Technology). Ability to understand stakeholder needs and communicate effectively to accomplish deliverables. Passion for the healthcare industry. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Leadership attributes demonstrated through above qualifications. Permanently authorized to work in the U.S.; must not require sponsorship of an employment visa at the time of application or in the future. The anticipated base pay range for this position is: 23$ per hour to 51.50$ per hour. Additional Pay Transparency : The anticipated base pay is between 23$ and 51.50$ per hour and may vary based on program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may participate in company benefits such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and retirement plans per plan terms. Housing stipend may be offered for those who qualify.
