The Production Manager (PM) provides leadership and systems to efficiently operate all production and supports corporate initiatives. The PM will continually improve processes, eliminate non-value-add steps, and reduce waste in the supply chain in collaboration with other departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement an SPS strategy and roadmap to achieve lean processes and operating practices for consistency and optimum results. Ensure the safety of all employees by applying proper procedures in operations. Provide supervision and technical leadership; coach and develop Group Leaders and Team Leaders into business leaders. Lead the application of SPS tools and project planning tools to improve processes, eliminate waste, and reduce cycle time. Identify, select, prioritize, and assign projects with breakthrough potential. Be conversant with operation and performance parameters of Value Stream Unit production equipment, ensuring safe, productive, and quality outcomes. Meet customer requirements for quality and delivery; respond to customer requests and Shiloh sales/marketing information needs for quotations, documentation, and prototype parts. Achieve established budgets. May perform other duties as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages the activities of Production Staff and all Business Unit production employees. Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Production Management, or related technical field preferred; minimum of 5 years related experience in the automotive industry, or Current Shiloh employee with appropriate experience in progressively higher positions and enrolled in classes to pursue the appropriate degree. Skills and Abilities
Experience with MRP and other inventory systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Conflict resolution skills. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
