Controls Engineer
to join our team and partner with Engineering Project Leads and Production Management to design electrical and control systems. You’ll play a key role in developing
new and existing products , focusing on advancing technology to enable products for
IoT applications . This position is based in Blaine, MN, with the new facility opening in early 2026. Upon hire, onboarding and training will be held at our facility in Anoka, MN until the Blaine facility opens.
Responsibilities
Develop technical requirements and specifications for outside vendors to bid and construct custom machines and control systems
Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated manufacturing production lines applying the appropriate technology
As a project leader, develop a complete project plan including resources, costs, benefits and schedule; assume full responsibility for all aspects of the project to ensure it meets goals and schedule; communicate project status to partners as appropriate; and follow up to ensure project results are sustained
Diagnose complex machine and operations equipment issues
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field of study
3+ years of validated experience developing factory automation systems
Strong electrical and controls automation skills
Detailed experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI), control systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Omron) and control components
Experience with Ignition, FactoryTalk, SQL Databases, Computer Networking, Tableau, LabVIEW, AutoCAD Electrical (preferred)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Previous experience with robotics
Strong analytical skills

Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$76,000.00 - $141,100.00
Depending on the position offered, employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
