Commercial Construction Senior Superintendent – HITT Contracting Inc.
Senior Superintendent directs the on-site work flow to align with the project schedule and HITT safety and quality standards. The Senior Superintendent provides leadership, serves as a liaison between project team members, and demonstrates mid-level leadership. Communicates project priorities to site staff and subcontractors, acting as the primary on-site leader for the construction project. Responsibilities
Understand and administer the HITT safety program to include all subcontractors; ensure all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated; assist in safety inspections by outside agencies Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project Lead on-site safety and manage a safe jobsite for all involved Maintain a daily log of activities and site conditions; manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance Work with the project manager to formulate project schedule; ensure proper methods and sequence of installation are followed; meet schedule commitments and maintain quality standards Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors; foster community relationships that enhance business opportunities; ensure fair treatment of subcontractors Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets; understand subcontractor scope to avoid unnecessary change orders; identify problems early and provide solutions Develop and organize the site team; arrange for temporary facilities/utilities; identify and expedite long-lead items Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project Qualifications
A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred. In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable. 8-10 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor Experience with tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced projects is a plus Mastery of building processes and best practices Ability to organize necessary resources (people, tools, time) to meet tight deadlines and achieve results Project lead experience; previous superintendent or project lead experience preferred Ability to master sector/project-specific software (Microsoft Office suite; ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, etc.) OSHA 30 Certification preferred Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Strong communication, professional writing, and verbal skills; data gathering and interpretation to inform decisions Organize/manage tasks and priorities; integrity and alignment with The HITT Way and core values Commitment to continuous learning, adaptability with evolving technology and methods Ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds; build relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors Respectfulness, punctuality, engagement, and professionalism HITT Contracting is an equal opportunity employer.
