Job Overview Ingersoll Rand is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Controls Engineer who can thrive inside an interactive & dynamic team where safety, quality, creativity, and continuous improvement are paramount. This role focuses on developing, integrating, and maintaining electrical and control systems for Ingersoll Rand's centrifugal compressor product lines while supporting contract engineering efforts, new product development initiatives, and ensuring customer success by delivering exceptional experiences and value.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary electrical and control systems expert, leading new product development, engineering projects, and contract implementation support.

Evaluate and conceptualize product and project requirements to ensure feasibility within budget and schedule constraints.

Apply Ingersoll Rand standard control systems, custom PLC systems, and compressor control techniques to various product platforms and contract applications.

Create and validate design documentation, including P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, control narratives, programming configurations, and testing plans/procedures.

Design and maintain control panels compliant with industry standards (UL508A, IEC 60204-1).

Support component or sub-system integrations into system level designs including MCCs, VFDs, starters/switchgear, aux motor/heater starters, VMS/MMS, and industrial networking components.

Support the integration of IIoT technology across global regions while closely supporting customer IT/OT and cybersecurity requirements.

Support product acceptance testing to ensure functional requirements are satisfied at manufacturing and customer sites (FAT/SAT procedures) and assist with equipment integration and commissioning.

Occasional international travel, up to 20% (Typically, Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.

4+ years of industrial electrical design experience.

Familiarity with electrical standards such as UL, NEC, NFPA, CSA, CE, IEC.

Preferences

Experience with Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC/HMI hardware and software development tools.

Knowledge of hazardous area design standards NEC/CEC Class, Div., ATEX, IECEx.

Minimum seven years relevant experience specific to compression industry preferred.

Familiar with functional safety standards and practices (IEC 61508/61511).

Knowledge of SAP and Teamcenter (IR ERP and PLM systems) is a plus.

Familiarity with centrifugal compressor control systems design is a plus.

Knowledge of AutoCAD and NX (IR Drafting Software).
