Summary: This position will support capital projects with development of plans and specifications, perform analysis and provide reports on assigned tasks associated with the design and construction of new assets. The role is responsible for the implementation and support of the entire project cycle for growth projects including scope and design development, request for funding preparation, estimating and submittals, material procurement, execution, construction oversight, and project close-out documentation.
Responsibilities
Meet project scope, budget, and schedule for natural gas and crude oil gathering projects that include pipelines, facilities, and meter stations.
Manage the entire project cycle for projects including scope and design development, funding requests, estimating and submittals, material procurement, execution, construction oversight, cost and schedule management, and project completion.
Provide project direction to project team members across functions (controls, engineering design, operations, ROW, legal, environmental, supply chain, etc.).
Collaborate with the construction group on construction and inspection activities.
Support business development with engineering reports, option/design alternatives, estimates, studies, capability definitions, and client presentations.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to project stakeholders including commercial development, operations, outside customers, and executive management.
Manage multiple projects at various phases and locations simultaneously.
Participate in continuous improvement activities for growth projects and the development/implementation of MOCs, lessons learned, PSSRs, training, etc.
Develop projects that adhere to Company engineering standards, code compliance, safety requirements, and industry practices.
Coordinate with company personnel and outside vendors/contractors for project implementation.
Work independently and within a larger team; serve as a technical expert and provide guidance on complex questions.
Share knowledge to broaden and deepen engineering capabilities across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
6-10 years of related experience in pipeline, measurement, facilities, compression, pumps, and/or processing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to handle changing priorities
Experience in engineering, operations, and/or project management
Proficiency with Microsoft products including MS Project
Experience Levels
The Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years of relevant experience
The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Valid State Driver’s License
Professional Engineering (PE) license
Familiarity with DOT 192, ASME, API and ASTM specifications and practices
Working Conditions The work environment includes normal office conditions and field work. Occasional travel is required (e.g., up to 30% for roles based in Houston). May involve visits to industrial settings with exposure to materials, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud machinery; appropriate PPE is required.
