Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer

based in Bellevue, Washington or Portland, Oregon, you will lead geotechnical tasks and oversee delivery on a wide variety of projects, with a focus on water and transportation market projects such as dams, levees, treatment plants, bridges, and related infrastructure. Projects may include design-bid-build and design-build efforts. Your responsibilities include mentoring less experienced staff, potentially serving as a staff manager, leading geotechnical data collection programs, performing geotechnical analyses, preparing reports, developing contract documents, and supporting project construction. You will work within a large interdisciplinary design team, interact with clients, support business development, and help advance the technical capabilities of the regional office and global geotechnical group. Technical skills required include, but are not limited to: Exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing for soil and rock Design, construction, and inspection of water and transportation market projects Design of typical geotechnical structures (shallow/deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, ground improvement) Understanding of earthquake hazard evaluations (liquefaction assessments, site-specific ground response analyses, design spectra) Preparation of technical reports Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses (SETTLE3D, LPILE, SLIDE or SLOPE/W, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier, PLAXIS, FLAC) Preparation of design drawings and specifications What you’ll need

B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S./Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering 5–15 years of geotechnical consulting experience with focus on water and transportation market or related infrastructure projects Professional Engineer (PE) license Benefits and compensation
