Keeley Construction is looking to add a
Project Engineer
to our Civil Energy Group in St. Louis, MO. Overview
The position reports to Keeley Construction and supports project team activities within the Civil Energy Group. This role involves coordination, documentation, and collaboration across project stakeholders to support project delivery. Responsibilities
Coordinate work and correspondence between all project team members. Manage all documentation related to construction projects. Assist in bid solicitation and estimate functions. Prepare and maintain submittal and RFI logs based on project drawings and specifications. Document and communicate scope changes and related project impacts to the project team. Coordinate the change proposal, review, and submission process. Participate in required construction meetings with personnel, subcontractors, designers, and owners. Plan and prepare detailed project schedules up to three months in advance, aligned with project timelines and milestones. Participate in job shadowing with superintendents and project managers to gain hands-on experience and understand role expectations and required skills. Read and interpret project plans or develop the ability to learn, ensuring comprehension of scheduled tasks and on-site execution. Support administrative processes such as permits, contractual obligations (submittals, insurance, bonds, billing, closeout documentation), timekeeping, progress reporting, billing and collections, subcontracts, accounts payable, and change orders. Anticipate next steps by regularly assessing progress in collaboration with stakeholders including internal teams, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients. Identify and address potential safety, quality, and site condition issues to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR a minimum of two years of experience performing the listed responsibilities. Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word is a plus. Background of technical skills and understanding of substations, transmission and distribution, wind, and solar. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, vendors, and clients.
