What you will be doing: This position works semi-independently to construct, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain state facilities within the guidelines of current state statutes and codes in the most efficient and economical manner possible.

This position performs maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, upkeep, and construction of public facilities and facility systems in the State of Alaska, within but not limited to the Anchorage Hub.

Qualifications:

Mechanical : Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, installations, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Painting : Knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools to apply paint and other protective coating materials on drywall, wood, metal, glass, and other surfaces.

Plumbing and Pipefitting : Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas chemicals, or sewage.

Electrical : Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance.

Problem Solving : Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
