JENSEN HUGHES has an exciting career opportunity for a Fire Protection Engineer located in our Austin, TX and/or Allen, TX office(s). This position is ideal for experienced candidates. You will provide fire protection consulting services on a client site and lead a team of engineers and specialty consultants in collaborating with building owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients on various projects. Responsibilities
Perform professional fire protection engineering services such as life safety code consulting, fire protection design, fire alarm/mass notification design, smoke control design, hazardous materials consulting, system commissioning, and performance-based solutions. Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to professional standards. Assist in resolving design issues through field investigations, research, detailed design work, and review of design computations. Identify applicable codes and standards for project inquiries. Conduct and document building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm systems reviews, smoke control systems reviews, and sprinkler/water supply system reviews, including hydraulic calculations. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, owners, and other stakeholders. Support CAD/Revit production and review documents as needed. Analyze and interpret technical and regulatory documents. Manage projects including proposal development, scope, schedule, budget, resource coordination, milestone tracking, and client interaction. Participate in business development activities such as client outreach, conference attendance, and professional organization involvement. Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher. 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience. Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas. Effective written and oral communication skills. Local to Austin, TX or Allen, TX, or willing to relocate. Ability to travel within Texas and surrounding states. Additional Information
