Overview

Account Manager - Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) role with Equipment & Controls, Inc. This position focuses on PLC-centric architectures, integration within automation systems, and identifying value-driven sales opportunities in industrial accounts. Responsibilities

Able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of PLC-centric architectures and software, including PLC brands (Emerson, Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, GE Fanuc), their product lines (compact, modular, and safety PLCs), and underlying components (processors, I/O modules, communication modules). Understand PLC integration within broader automation systems, including connectivity to HMIs, industrial networks, VFDs, and a range of sensors and actuators. Demonstrate knowledge of PLC applications across industries (e.g., discrete manufacturing, process control, packaging, automotive, food & beverage, water/wastewater) and functions (machine control, batch processing, material handling, robotics integration, safety systems). Identify and qualify sales opportunities, apply knowledge of the customer’s business, and establish a value proposition that leads to sales. Act as the representative for other Emerson entities by identifying opportunities and introducing the appropriate resources to complete the transaction. Ideal Candidate

Four-year engineering degree or equivalent industry experience. At least 3 years of proven sales to industrial accounts with knowledge of process control fundamentals, including selling into large, complex accounts with individual and team responsibilities. Proven history of solution selling, diagnosing customer requirements, and mapping solutions of multiple products and services. Strong presentation, consultative selling, interpersonal, account planning, and communication skills. Team player who can work closely with System Sales Director and other business units. Ability to entertain and manage key sales relationships and penetrate new accounts with solid territory plans; strong mechanical aptitude and work ethic. Ability to leverage account planning and time management to capture business. Core Competencies
