Role description: Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in USA.
Arcadis’ Power Delivery group partners with clients to provide comprehensive plans that incorporate all aspects of their projects. This is a technical position within the Power Delivery unit of Arcadis. The role involves coordinating and developing the Power System Planning & Study team, performing HVAC and/or HVDC planning/feasibility studies, interconnection studies, transient studies, and systems analysis investigations primarily for clients in North America, but also globally. The incumbent will also collaborate with other departments and divisions on related system studies and master plans, aiming to improve quality of life.
Role accountabilities:
Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for various clients.
Perform and review power systems analysis activities including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability analysis, system impact study, and reliability analysis.
Conduct planning/system performance studies and transient studies to ensure compliance with standards and good engineering practices.
Deliver accurate and comprehensive planning reports, system design documents, and client deliverables that meet industry standards and specifications.
Ensure quality assurance on client reports and deliverables.
Coordinate with other Business Units and Practices for cross-selling and staffing, and develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
The role requires a team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively. Travel up to 25% may be required within North America and internationally.
Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in power system study analysis and planning.
Proficiency with PSSE, PSCAD, PSS/E, and experience with other planning software like TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools is highly desirable.
Familiarity with North American Market Operators’ policies, guidelines, and regulations, especially related to grid interconnection and planning.
Preferred Qualifications
PE License.
