Electrical Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Contract Position
Pay Estimated: $53.93-$58.93/Hour
Contribute to a company forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security.
Responsibilities
Design and develop digital hardware schematics and PCB layouts, including FPGAs, DDR3/DDR4/LPDDR4 memory, and high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, SDIO).
Utilize Siemens Xpedition or equivalent EDA tools for schematic capture, constraint definition, and layout design.
Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to ensure design robustness and manufacturability.
Design for testability and manufacturing (DFT/DFM) throughout the hardware development lifecycle.
Conduct lab-based testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electrical test equipment to validate hardware performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to integrate system-level requirements.
Support hardware prototyping, debugging, and documentation of technical findings and revisions.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field, with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
Experience in schematic capture and PCB/PWB design, including high-speed digital subsystems and components.
Proficient with Siemens Xpedition, Altium Designer, or equivalent tools for PCB design and layout.
Hands-on experience with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
Familiarity with advanced board materials, packaging techniques, and hardware verification methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and mentor junior engineers when needed.
