$65.00/hr - $78.00/hr
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Capital / Construction Project Manager to lead renewable energy capital projects from concept through completion. This role is responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communication for large-scale construction initiatives, including substation and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of renewable energy project scopes and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering specifications.
Oversee all phases of project execution including design, installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout.
Manage project budgets and procurement strategies for labor, equipment, and materials; facilitate bid meetings and vendor selection.
Supervise on‑site construction activities to ensure timely and cost‑effective completion.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including scope, schedule, and budget.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, contractors, and labor organizations.
Assess project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Secure necessary regulatory approvals for construction and operation of renewable energy projects.
Mentor junior project managers, engineers, and interns.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:
Option 1:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or Business; 6+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years in large‑scale construction or utility projects and 6+ months in renewable energy (e.g., wind, solar, energy storage).
Option 2:
Associate degree in a related field; 8+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years in large‑scale construction or utility projects and 6+ months in renewable energy.
Option 3:
High School Diploma or equivalent; 10+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years in large‑scale construction or utility projects and 6+ months in renewable energy.
Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification highly desired but not required.
Experience managing projects exceeding $50 million in value.
Substation and renewable energy project experience.
Proficiency in PMBOK methodologies and leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in utility or renewable energy sectors.
Background in large‑scale construction projects.
Familiarity with P6 Primavera scheduling software.
Ability to analyze project metrics and deliver strategic insights.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with flexibility to work remotely and on‑site as needed.
Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
