A leading electrical contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Construction Estimator to support data center projects ranging from $20M to $100M. This role is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, leading the proposal development process, and mentoring the preconstruction team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in complex, high-value electrical projects and a strong background in data center construction. The role involves rotational travelling, with 11 days on site and 3 days off.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive cost estimates using construction drawings and specifications. Write detailed proposals that accurately reflect project scope and cost. Lead internal proposal reviews and ensure all documentation is complete prior to submission. Act as the primary estimating contact for clients and assist in developing new business. Guide junior estimators and preconstruction team members throughout the bid process. Implement and refine estimating standards and best practices. Provide estimates for various project types: design-build, design-assist, and plan/spec. Negotiate with vendors to achieve best pricing and maintain quality. Collaborate with project managers on start-up costs and change orders. Ensure all estimates meet internal standards for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Participate in jobsite visits, meetings, and occasional travel as required. Qualifications: 8+ years of electrical construction estimating, cost control, or engineering experience. Proven experience with
data center projects ; hyperscale experience preferred. Proficient in
Accubid, Excel , and advanced estimating/project management software. Design-build project experience is a strong plus. Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction sequencing. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and cost data. Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage team members. Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking abilities. Ability to pass background and driving record checks as required. The company offers a base pay range of $130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr. This role is a full-time, mid-senior level position in the electric power generation industry.
