in Atlanta, GA to support our Transportation group as an emerging Entry Level Highway Engineer. This hybrid role requires a minimum 3 days onsite office attendance.
What You’ll Be Doing You’ll engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Whether working on highways and bridges or traffic engineering, our team excels in resilient, sustainable design and construction.
Responsibilities
Participate in concept development, preliminary engineering and final design for roadway and intersection improvements, bridge replacements, and highway interchange projects.
Prepare engineering design drawings, sketches, and layouts using CAD and other drafting software.
Work in a multidisciplinary team environment to meet project objectives.
Prepare material quantity and cost estimates for design packages.
Provide technical writing input to proposals, feasibility studies, design criteria and other reports.
Attend internal and external meetings with the team.
Multi‑task and manage workload on various projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited university.
0–3 years of experience in design of transportation engineering projects.
Demonstrated interest in highway or related transportation engineering through applied academic coursework, internships or work experience.
Experience with CAD or similar drafting software.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter, team player, and willingness to learn.
Preferred
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
Experience with Bentley MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer.
Familiarity with GDOT transportation standards.
Experience preparing detailed design contract drawings and packages.
Compensation Salary range: $75,000 – $95,000, depending on experience and geographic location.
