IETM Developer/Technical Writer

PURVIS currently has an immediate opening for an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)/Technical Writer to work on-site at our client's location in Manassas, VA. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include the following: Scheduling, planning, estimating, customer support, and product delivery Developing, modifying, and reviewing Naval shipboard technical documentation and U.S. Navy Technical Manuals Experience with Model Based Product Support (MBPS) a plus and Extensible Markup Language (XML) Writing, editing, and reviewing technical materials in support of maintenance, repair, testing, product improvement, and/or alteration of Naval Ship Systems and Equipment Participating in peer reviews of the work of other technical writers Qualifications: Strong knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including rules of composition, and grammar Strong verbal communication, listening and interviewing skills Ability to research highly technical information and interpret data Experience with DITA XML-based architecture Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees Good time management and organizational skills Ability to manage complex tasks from inception to end Good customer interface skills and understanding of customer needs Experience with S1000D and style guides a plus Skilled at using the Microsoft O365 Suite – Excel, Outlook, Teams, Planner, Word, PowerPoint Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance of SECRET.
