Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team within the North America Places group. The role sits within our Places Global Business Area (GBA). We work with clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe, and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. This includes Data Centers, Transit Facilities, Commercial and Retail, Mixed-Use Residential, Institutional/Educational, and Social Infrastructure developments.
In this role, you will provide first-in-class solutions to internal and external clients through your technical expertise in electrical engineering and building systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and controls. You will deliver sustainable, high-quality deliverables from front-end planning reports to issue-for-construction documents. This position has flexible working hours and involves collaboration within a team that values its people. This is a key location-based role focused in the Raleigh area to support our Retail, Workplace, Transit and Education practice.
Role accountabilities
Sustainable electrical engineering expertise: develop engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications, with guidance from team members as needed
Flexibility: openness to applying existing skills in related areas and willingness to take on new tasks
Entrepreneurial mindset: contribute to opportunity pursuit, strategy, client relationships, quality, and delivery innovation
Market presence: engage with regional organizations and clients, identify and own project opportunities
Understanding of global ways of working: collaborate with teammates worldwide and adapt to multicultural environments
Travel: up to 20% travel may be required with overnight stays
Qualifications & Experience
6+ years of relevant MEP experience in Retail, Workplace, Transit and Education sectors
Professional Engineer in North Carolina
Strong communication with clients and internal teams regarding needs and technical solutions
Experience with Autodesk platforms and digital design tools including BIM/ACC
Education
BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in engineering
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience on Arcadis projects or with legacy CRTKL/IBI architects
Experience in full-service consulting design firms resolving with in-house A/E resources
Adaptable to new digital tools including AI for delivery changes
Practical sustainability and carbon reduction experience
Experience with urban environments implementing transformative solutions
Experience with user-experience-centric projects requiring narrow engineering solutions
